Fitting a function for a complex variable
• Hi!
I'm a new user and don't really understand how to formulate the function(s) correctly so I'd really appreciate if you could help me.

#1
I have a number sequence with unknown behavior.
In general, how do I find its generating function?
Let's assume these numbers are between -10 and 10 and they may be whole numbers or even transcendent numbers.

#2
Lets say I have a million complex numbers with real and imaginary values between -2 and 2 that I want to model with a function so that I could predict what complex numbers become next.
I have no information on how the number sequence evolves and thus cannot formulate any educated guesses on the form of the generating function.

Do I separate the complex numbers in to real and imaginary part and feed them as f(re,im) in to Eureqa?
If I want to predict the next numbers (i.e. the number of my values n becomes >10^6), what is the formula for this? I'm now using n = f(re,im).

I thank you for your help in advance and hope that this thread will also help others.
